Situated about 32 km from Munnar town on the Munnar–Kodaikanal Road, Top Station lies on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. It was once a transshipment point for tea transported from Munnar to Tamil Nadu and gets its name from the highest railway station in the Kundala Valley Railway (now defunct).
